Dice games were an integral part of everyday life in ancient and medieval cultures. Bone dice dominate the finds far ahead of clay or non-ferrous metal dice. Their appearance is surprisingly uniform. The "eyes" for the numbers were turned inward and highlighted in dark colors. Dice in this form existed virtually unchanged from the 1st century BC to the 16th century.
