Gothic ear spoon with depiction of St. Peter - historical replica made of bone
Gothic ear spoon with depiction of St. Peter - historical replica made of bone
This Gothic ear spoon made of polished bone is based on a historical 15th-century find and modelled after an example from the Louvre.
Ear spoons were part of personal hygiene in the Middle Ages and were included in many everyday objects. The small bowl could be used to carefully remove earwax. At the same time, artistically decorated examples were an expression of status, piety and craftsmanship.
Medieval everyday culture in an artistic form.
The elaborate replica shows the Apostle Peter with his classic attributes - key and book. The bone is hand-carved and carefully polished, creating a smooth surface with a natural texture.
Historical replica with a special collector's character.
As each ear spoon is individually crafted and natural material is used, slight differences in shape, colour and surface are possible.
