Roman knife with bone handle, 1st to 3rd century, after a find from Wederath (Belginum), steel and bone, 15 cm The model for this small knife comes from the sanctuary of Belginum in the Hunsrück region. It represents a form that is also well known from other sites and can probably be described as a type of pocket knife: a small, multifunctional knife that could easily be carried. The handle is equipped with two bone plates decorated with geometric grooves.
