This late Romanesque bone stylus is based on a historical find from Ukraine and follows the typical design language of the 11th-13th centuries.

As in antiquity, wax tablets were used as writing material in the Middle Ages. Styli were used for writing. The pointed side was used to inscribe text into the wax, while the flat side served to smooth the surface again.

Historical writing implement based on a medieval model.

The shape of this replica can be found not only in Eastern Europe, but also in Central and Western Europe, and corresponds to typical Romanesque writing implements of the High Middle Ages.

Each stylus is individually hand-carved from bone and carefully crafted. Due to the individual production and natural material, slight differences in color, shape, and structure may occur.

Each piece is a handcrafted unique item.
